Tatuga School Update: Gamify Classroom Success with the All-New "Grade Leaderboard" View! 🏆✨

Transforming grading data into a source of positive reinforcement and celebration! We are thrilled to roll out the new Grade Leaderboard view inside your subject dashboard—designed to help teachers project and celebrate student progress through an animated, game-inspired podium and race-bar experience.

Feature Highlights:

  • 🎛️ Instant View Toggle (Table / Leaderboard): Seamlessly switch between your traditional, detailed spreadsheet rows and the high-energy leaderboard dashboard via the new segmented controls in the header. Your data stays uncompromised and fully synchronized.
  • 🥇 Top-3 Animated Podium Display: Celebrate your leading student bracket with a beautiful Gold, Silver, and Bronze pedestal array (arranged in a 2nd-1st-3rd visual hierarchy). Each pillar elegantly renders the student's avatar profile, full name, medal status, and calculated score.
  • 📊 Proportional Race Bars: For students ranking 4th and beyond, the system populates a list of smooth horizontal progress bars. The width of each bar is mathematically scaled against the top leader's score, providing an intuitive visual representation of how close the class is pacing together.
  • 👁️‍🗨️ Privacy-Minded "Hide Scores" Toggle: Projecting live in front of the classroom? Flip the "Hide Scores" utility switch to completely mask all numeric point values. The visual bar lengths and relative rank metrics stay active, keeping the presentation encouraging, secure, and stress-free.
  • 📺 Cinematic Fullscreen Experience: Click the "Fullscreen" utility button to expand the leaderboard dashboard into a clean, immersive overlay that eclipses the application chrome. This is tailor-made for projector displays and can be exited effortlessly by clicking the close button or tapping the Escape key.

🧮 Behind-the-Scenes Ranking Mechanics:

  • Standard Competition Ranking: Tied scores universally share the exact same rank marker (e.g., if multiple students tie for 2nd place, both reflect rank 2, and the subsequent rank skips directly to 4th). Ties are gracefully ordered under-the-hood by student numbers to prevent structural flickering.
  • No Broken States: The layout handles edge cases beautifully. If it's the start of the semester and everyone sits at 0 points, the dashboard loads cleanly as a roster utilizing minimum-width indicators.
